On September 1 and 2, MEKRA Lang and Lang Technics welcomed 15 new apprentices and two dual-track students. During the two-day “Apprentice Welcome” event, the new recruits got to know the company, their supervisors, and their colleagues—and thus began their training in a total of nine different trades.
A new chapter in life has begun for a total of 17 young people: On September 1 and 2, 15 apprentices and two dual-track students began their careers at MEKRA Lang and Lang Technics. This year, the company is offering training in a wide range of professions—from business and technical fields to IT and housekeeping programs.
Training is offered in the following professions: industrial clerk, machine and plant operator, toolmaker, industrial mechanic, electronics technician for industrial engineering, warehouse specialist, IT systems management specialist, IT specialist for system integration, and housekeeping manager.
Two Days Packed with Activities
The event kicked off with a personal welcome from CEO Susanne Lang, CTO Bernd Dehner, and CFO Thomas Kolodziej, who welcomed the new trainees to the company.
During an in-depth tour of the facility, the young talents got to know the various departments, processes, and workstations. A scavenger hunt through the company also provided a fun and interactive experience: Working in small teams, the trainees explored the company and solved various tasks along the way. Icebreaker games were also on the agenda and helped the new group bond quickly.
Technical content was not neglected either. An IT security training session raised the trainees’ awareness from the very beginning about the responsible handling of data and systems. In addition, they were introduced to the company’s sustainability initiatives—an area that is a top priority at MEKRA Lang and Lang Technics and one that the new hires are expected to help shape from the very beginning.
Last but not least, there was plenty of time for team-building: The group lunches during the first week provided ample opportunity to get to know one another better in a relaxed atmosphere and to make initial connections.
